Tactile Plates
The raised profiles warn pedestrians of a change in elevation or a hazard ahead, for compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act. Manufactured from Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) the plates are extremely durable.
The raised profiles incorporate aluminium oxide for increased wear and slip resistance. To install the tiles, simply glue and screw to the existing substrate.
The tiles are available in 3 different designs:
- Corduroy: Warns visually impaired people of the presence of hazards such as stairs or pedestrian crossings.
- Blister Off-street: This design is set in evenly spaced rows parallel to the direction of travel which indicates movement in this direction is safe.
- Blister On-street: The blister design indicates the edge of a footway near a crossing.
